If it is possible to remind us that millions of human beings throughout history have lived through worse political situations and still managed to make art, and find joy, and share meals and resist despair, could you do that for us please? And then keep guiding us toward their wisdom.
In fact, cover us all in a wisdom that is not available in memes, and hot takes.
And help us remember to drink some water today.

This new reality is going to be very difficult. And while I, among many others, shop for housing in Vancouver, Ottawa, Sweden, Australia, and other more sane and kind countries and cities, I am still stuck here. So, as long as I am, so long as we are, we will gather ourselves, and get back to the work of helping each other. There is strength and safety in numbers.

For those who are devastated by this election, be angry, be sad, yell and scream. Cry! Find a tree to hug. Let the light break through and warm your face and dry your tears. Then get up, get out, and we will continue the work of creating a world led by kindness and love.

Below is commentary from my 19 year old daughter. She and her whole generation amaze me every day in how they see the world, how they see people as truly connected by who they truly are.

Life is still beautiful. Life is still better with a soundtrack.

This piece always stirs the positive emotions in me. It inspires me and ignites all the wonderful imagery of life, the incredible friends I have shared life with, and the family I so dearly love. Those images, emotions, and every sense or sensation from my memories rush through me like a wave of energy. It always reminds me how precious life is, every second of it.
